Life|| Favourite things about living in London

I’ve almost been in London for 3 years now, 3 years! Can you believe it? I can’t quite myself. I’ve been thinking about all the best bits so far and why I think living in London is so great, and I thought I’d share it with you all:

Monuments and famous locations on you door step – you never have to go far for a cultural walk, a sight-seeing stroll or a jog along the mall. It’s pretty much all within walking distance so it means you get out too. This is something that definitely shouldn’t be taken for granted, London has some absolutely beautiful sights.

SO many workshops/classes – London can be a lonely place. Yes, there are tonnes of people but everyone keeps themselves to themselves. A great way to meet new people, other than through work, is to join a class or workshop. There are SO many in the city, from candle or soap making, to hip hop or silk painting, you’ll always find something new you could try out and meet new people in the meantime. I actually really want to try a knitting workshop.

class

No, I don’t mean a class like that!

FOOD – Restaurants from branches to boutique, and street food galore, London is a foodie heaven. I love Borough market and my list of places I want to feast at just keeps growing and growing.

Theatre – If I listed all of London’s theatres this post would go on and on. There are lots and lots, with just as many plays on all at the same time so there’s always something for everyone. It may be a bit more of a treat to go to the theatre, but the booths in Leicester Square can help with the expense and it’s great how easy it is to go when you can afford it.

showtime

Events – Where else in the UK has so many events? From the OM Yoga Show to the Southbank festival and Winter Wonderland, London has it all going on. No matter the time of year, there’s always something to be trying out and going along to.

Museums/galleries – London has numerous museums and art galleries, many of which are free with donation to wander around. You can get lost in some of these, they’re huge and a great day out on a budget, whilst also helping build knowledge. We all love to add to our intellect don’t we? All those random facts.

FRIENDS – Obviously all the friends I’ve made in London are on my list of the best bits so far. Whether that be through my boyfriend, blogging or my different jobs, I love how I’ve made a life for myself here and aim to enjoy everything as much as possible.

I probably should mention Alex too, but I hope he would be a constant whether I was in London or elsewhere.

What are your favourite things about living in London?
