What I eat when dining out often inspires a lot of my home cooking. The new ingredients I decide to experiment with, the flavour combos, the style.
I recently had a delicious cauliflower salad, and so have started roasting my own spiced cauliflower at home to add to salads, main dishes, or a delicious vegetable cous cous, which I’ve been having for lunch at work – don’t worry, the recipe is on it’s way.
Roasted cauliflower, is so simple, yet get the flavour combinations right, and a spiced version can be 100x better! So much flavour packed into something so nutritious.
So here it is, my Roasted Spiced Cauliflower recipe for you to try. I hope you enjoy, and of course, please let me know how you find it and what you serve it with – I’m always after recommendations too!
Roasted Spiced Cauliflower
Delicious spiced cauliflower which is perfect for serving in a salad, as a side to a meat dish, or with cous cous and feta for a light lunch.
- 1 cauliflower head
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp cumin
- 2 tsp garam masala
Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees celsius. Line a baking tray with foil.
Remove the outer leaves and the stalk from the cauliflower. Cut the cauliflower head into roughly equal sized pieces.
Place the cauliflower in a bowl and toss in the oil. Sprinkle in the cumin, garam masala, salt and pepper and combine well.
Spread over the lined baking tray, and cook in the middle of the oven for 35-40 minutes - until you can stick a fork into the pieces.
Serve as desired - as a side to your favourite meat main, with salad, or with vegetable cous cous and feta. Enjoy!
