With the weather still really warm and sunny, iced coffees are perfect for getting that caffeine fix.
I used to only like the blended variety, coffee frappucinos, but since my love for coffee has grown (and perhaps I’ve matured slightly), nothing beats a coffee served over ice with a splash of milk when it’s warm and sticky out.
For all those times when a hot coffee is just going to make you sweat (I’m sure we’ve all been there), or if you’re just looking to shake up your afternoon drink, this is perfect – my go-to iced coffee. Simple yet delicious.
What’s better, the only extra thing you need compared to making a regular cuppa Joe is ice! So grab that ice cube tray and let’s do this.
What’s your favourite thing to drink when it’s hot, or warm and stuffy?
Simple Iced Coffee
Perfect for those warm summer days
- 1 tsp instant coffee (I use Nescafe Azera)
- 50ml boiling water
- 1 handful ice
- 50ml semi-skimmed milk
- sugar, to sweeten if desired
Boil the kettle. Place the instant coffee in a long tall latte glass, add the boiling water and stir well. Add sugar if desired (or flavoured syrup if to hand).
Add the ice - enough to fill the glass to just over 3/4 full.
Top up with the milk (use more if you'd like a creamier coffee). Stir, sit back and enjoy!
