Ok, so this isn’t my usual type of post. But I feel I need to discuss this. Health is so important and I’m having this constant debate with myself. So I thought writing about it on my little space, and perhaps seeing what you all think, might help settle something once and for all…so here goes… You know you’ve tried your utmost hardest, and to be honest you’re pretty darn good at what you do, but you’re starting to think and question as to whether it’s all worth it. Yep, that’s me right now. Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy what I do most of the time. It’s social. It can be fun – the culture at the agency I’m currently at is awesome…

…well maybe not life, but definitely exercise. Have you ever tried anti-gravity yoga? No? Well here’s all the inside goss after I recently gave a class a whirl. Also known as aerial yoga or zero-gravity yoga, this exercise class is taken in a studio with silk hammocks hanging from the ceiling, from which you carry out a number of yoga postures and moves in the air. Sounds weird right? Ok, so it can be quite theatrical too, not surprisingly as the creator of this fab exercise craze is also the co-founder of the Cirque du Soleil! But when else do you get a chance to flip in and out of postures, get to swing around and generally give in to your inner child. Everyone’s telling us we need to…

So it’s not as hot or quite as nice as the middle of last week but we still have some sun coming out to brighten our day. And it’s quite obvious the effect it has on some people… So many are generally happier. Have you noticed this? But we can’t diagnose everyone with SAD (seasonal affective disorder) surely? I do love a bit of sunshine, and did actually ditch my yoga class on Wednesday last week to spend part of the evening with Ally sat in Regents Park – I know that’s naughty and I do LOVE my yoga nights but come on, did you see how warm it was? How could I go in for hot yoga when I had the chance to spend…

A few weeks ago now I took 2 days off sick. I was really unwell, dizzy, faint, energy-less and I also had flu symptoms including being unable to hear properly. It was horrible! Ok so I had thought this was coming for a while – using my weekends to try and recover just wasn’t working. I felt extremely guilty for being away from work. The worry of whether everything would be done, whether colleagues would be ok, and the anxiety that they’d think I was taking too much time off to recover (even though it was only 2 days) setting in. I tried to ignore this and put my health first even though this was really hard! After I had taken the time off, resting, sleeping and relaxing, only…

Have you ever had your cholesterol tested? I had mine done today…well you never know. Having no symptoms and the potential to be hereditary, it’s always best to check! For all of you out there who aren’t quite sure what cholesterol is (yes, I’ll admit I was one of you a short while ago!), it’s a white waxy substance which is needed for good health…BUT too much can be bad. Cholesterol does help form cell membranes, various hormones, bile salts and vitamin D but on the other hand too much increases your risk of heart disease – and high cholesterol has no side effects so you might not see it coming (SORRY I don’t mean to scare you! Just showing it’s worth checking and getting…
