Pasta. A dish I normally avoid when eating out. Not because the options don’t look tasty, but solely because I think I could probably make that dish, or something similar, at home. I know what you’re thinking, look at that cooking ego, but I know I’m not the only one who thinks this way. Pasta from a street food stand/van, is usually bottom of my list too – unless it’s quirky and new (i.e. stirred inside a huge cheese). Ok and Mac’n’cheese I count separately as you can’t really compare that to other pasta dishes, it’s my ultimate weakness. Mondays. Not the best day of the week by far. Surely even people who love their jobs don’t really like Mondays that much. The early start after a weekend of restful sleep, the to-do list ever-growing once again (or building on last week’s which didn’t get finished), the dressing smart (or reasonably), and having to choose what to wear super fast, and the feeling of always being switched on. Gosh, no wonder weekends are wished to arrive sooner! Mondays over the past couple weeks have been made worse by the weather, but I’ve found the perfect cure – a delicious dinner. I don’t usually head out for pizza, pasta or salad, unless I’m going to a new, super cool, restaurant which I’m dying to try after drooling over everyone else’s Instagram posts and stories – FYI, I do this WAY too much! I just think I can cook most of it at home, which I know, isn’t always necessarily the case, but I like to try and go to new places if I eat out. It’s how I justify the spending.
