You can tell it’s festival season in London purely by the number of glittery faces and flower headbands you see on the tubes. A couple of weeks ago, I was one of them. Normally a Wireless festival goer, being a fan of R’n’B and Hip Hop, British Summer Time sure was a change to the usual experience I was getting used to year after year. But with Justin Bieber playing, how could you say no? And I can honestly say, I loved it. We didn’t have to make our way through the usual stampede of festival goers to get in, or queue for ages at the bar, in fact there was almost no queue at all. Yet it was still really busy. There were festival…

My FIRST camping festival…and I survived!! Earlier this year, just before V Festival tickets were released, Lucy and I decided we HAD to go. Beiber, Rihanna, SIA, Bastille, Little Mix, Big Sean…how can you miss out on a festival with such big names? So as soon as tickets were released, Lucy got us both camping tickets, and she also sorted us coach tickets not long after too – such a good organiser! A week before V festival, Lucy also made me a packing list – what would I do without her? – and we went shopping for some final bits & pieces to finish getting the essentials, wellies, welly socks, a rain mac – yes, I know how can I not own a rain mac when…

Cocktails. One of my favourite things. Pretty much on par with a G&T, yet way more versatile, with so many creative recipes using different spirits, mixers, syrups… the possibilities are endless! So when I was invited to the press preview of Cocktails in the City, the new cocktail festival set to hit London later this month, on the 29th and 30th July, I obviously had to go. Up on the roof terrace of The Big Chill in Kings Cross, we were welcomed with a cocktail (obviously) and settled ourselves along the back. We weren’t too late and there was already such a great turn out, but we got a spot with a good enough view of the bar, knowing there was going to be some sort…

I LOVE Caribbean cuisine. Obviously it has something to do with the fact that Alex is from Barbados as he’s the one who introduced me to the spicy, flavoursome dishes I’ve grown to love and crave – well actually it’d be his mum’s cooking, which is insanely good, and it was more like love at first taste than growing to love. Last Saturday I pushed Alex out of bed early so that we could spend the morning in Levi Root’s Caribbean Smokehouse in Westfield Stratford, which opened towards the end of last year. We were at the Rastaurant (haha love it!) bright and early, before lunchtime opening hours, to try out the brand new cookery sessions Levi is launching to inspire and teach everyone from Caribbean cuisine rookies to…

Not only did I have a fantastic Thursday evening last week with Ally, it was followed by an absolutely amazing weekend at Wireless Festival! This was the first time I’d been to a festival and I have to say it is one of the best weekends I’ve had! We had tickets for Saturday and Sunday (we couldn’t go all three days, but heard friday was really good too – some of Alex’s friends went), and although last week we heard Drake cancelled due to illness this didn’t affect how awesome our weekend was! Saturday We got up saturday morning and went to Banner’s in Crouch End for breakfast. A nice hearty breakfast to start the day with enough energy to get us through with all…
