So this experience was actually Alex’s Christmas present…from last Christmas! Alex finally got round to booking it over the summer, and it turned out, we both weren’t free on a Saturday until September – it’s crazy how busy summer can be. So on Saturday we made our way down to Redhill, got a taxi from the station to Priory Events, on Sandy Lane (it was pretty cheap, only about £7 each way), and arrived at The Barn ready to sign in early and kit up. We had a quick briefing in the Lambing Shed, where we were kitted out with helmets and safety glasses, before heading up to the field to be briefed and get going. There were 9 of us in total in the…

Alex has to be one of the luckiest football fans. On the Friday before the Euro 2016 finals, he got a message to see if he wanted to take someone’s place in a 24 hour round trip to France and back. For the EURO FINALS! As much as I moaned about yet another month of football – I always quite look forward to the summer break so I can be refreshed for the new season in August…haha – I did think this was an amazing opportunity! So the morning after Wireless Festival, Alex got up super early, like 6am!, and headed to St. Pancras for the Eurostar with his best friend. I kept up with his Snapchat, and got a couple messages throughout the day,…

I love to give a little something homemade for christmas, I think it adds the perfect personal touch. Plus, after all, gifting is all about the thought which goes into it, and what’s more effort than making gifts? This year Ally and I teamed up, had a girls night in and got making, cooking and setting – It’s always nice to have company when doing things like this. With christmas music on in the background we got stuck in. We decided on 3 things to make all together which I thought I’d share with you. They’re great and relatively easy to make, and are lovely gifts! First recipe: Coconut Ice We used the recipe from Good Housekeeping which my Grandma had actually kindly recommended. It was…

Towards the end of last week, my Account Manager and I ventured out on our lunch break to get a present for a client. We had been racking our brains, cogs turning all week trying to think of something and decided on chocolate – It’s always a winner, right?  My Account Manager picked out a chocolate shop on Brick Lane we’d walked past a few times which sold fairtrade chocolate and off we headed. Sorry about the angle…silly sign post in my way… Upon entering this cocoa kingdom, called Dark Sugars, your senses are filled with the smell of chocolate whilst you’re surrounded by a room filled different chocolates for you to browse and select. We spoke to the gentleman by the counter, a very friendly helpful man…

The end of last month was my Director’s birthday. She always makes such an effort for our birthdays that I wanted us (we all go together at work for colleague’s birthday gifts) to get her something different, something special. I thought I’d use the occasion to paint. A little nervous as obviously it puts pressure and a big responsibility on my shoulders, I did a little sneaky investigation into what her most favourite things were to decide on what to paint. My director’s daughter sent me a really cute picture of their English bulldog cross, Margaret, and so I took on the challenge – I’m normally a landscape painter so this was something new for me! And this is how it turned out… Pretty pleased.…
