A hidden gem, Zaman International is an Asian and European fusion restaurant nestled under the Sportsman Casino in Marble Arch. I’d never set foot in a casino before – it’s just never been a thing for me – so wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The interior, from the welcome desk right through to the restaurant reminded me of those swanky restaurants in American movies – it was all white table clothes, dark woods, cream leather seats and booths, but with the odd splash of deep purple. A large booth for the two of us, and the warmest welcome, we felt like we were featuring in a film ourselves. There were a few slot machines and other gambling thing-ma-bobs on the far side, which seemed…

Suns out, picnic blankets out. We all know that as soon as the nice weather arrives, the majority of Londoners will pack their rucksacks, grab a blanket or anything which could possibly work to sit on (I’ve seen old curtains, towels and cushions) and head to the nearest park – or the best looking green space. If you could take an aerial photo of London’s green space on a hot day, I’m sure there wouldn’t much unoccupied. We followed by example last week during the heatwave, with a picnic on Primrose Hill. It was my first trip (I know, I can’t believe it either), and the perfect spot for an afternoon soaking up the rays, having a laugh and enjoying some nibbles and a drink…

Weekend mornings. Always a debate as to whether to use them for a lie in to catch-up on sleep or get up at about the same time and make the most of the day. For me, it’s always a mix. I like to get up early one morning and have a little lie in the other. On my early morning, gym is always top of my priority list. A class or intense session to start the weekend well – or prepare my body for the weekend treats – and some ultimate ME time. Time when I can unwind, de-stress and reset, and of course feel amazing afterwards. Last Saturday, I got the chance to try one of the classes at Virgin Active at the O2…

Escape the city. Let’s face it, sometimes we really want to, or even need to. Just to grab a moment of serenity. Just for yourself to breathe, take 5 and think about the here and now. Not let any of the work stress or city anxieties, the daily to-do list or bills, get through. Just to relax. The city can be a little too much sometimes. Always on the go, constantly something to do or see. Working days are known to be longer in the big smoke too, and with everything on top, it can get a little much – and that’s perfectly normal. Escaping at lunch for a break (when possible) isnt really always escaping either, with everyone available at the end of a…

My birthday this year has been full of surprises! Alex and I have done experiences over presents for birthdays for a while, as we love trying or seeing new things, and there’s not many seriously awesome presents you can really think of when you’ve been together so long – all the good ideas got used up a year or so ago haha. Well my sister followed suit this year, and with her surprise for me on a weekend in the middle of Alex’s two surprises, my birthday truly went ¬†on for a few weeks! A little spoilt but I like to drag out the celebrations. Alex’s first surprise, seeing The Weeknd from the box, was awesome (read all about it here) and Emma’s brunch and…
