Event|| Festive Origami Workshop with Oliver Bonas at the O2 Centre, Finchley Road

I never really thought of paper as being so magical until Tuesday evening. It’s amazing the things you can make from one small square of the stuff. And how relaxing it can be.

On Tuesday evening I popped along to the O2 Centre on Finchley Road for a festive origami workshop with Oliver Bonas – it sure is one way to get the Christmas spirit flowing. Set up on the (fake) grass area, by the giving tree – such an awesome idea (see what it’s about here) – a small group of us gathered around whilst Erin Hung, Creative Director of Berin Made, the modern & luxury stationary company, talked and helped us through how to make a Christmas tree.

At first, I wasn’t sure how I’d get on. I love a bit of craft, but origami always looks so particular and tricky! But it really wasn’t that difficult!

I was going to explain step by step, but I couldn’t do it as well as Erin so I’ve popped the instructions below if you’d like to give it a whirl (you should!)

Patterned paper is definitely the way to go with these beauties. The Oliver Bonas Christmas prints we used worked well and made the cutest little trees. I’m tempted to make lots and tie them onto my gifts like a tag!

Erin was accommodating and super helpful and friendly. She really did make it one lovely workshop. Accompanied by a mulled wine and mince pies, it truly was one festive evening and I loved It!

The O2 Centre on Finchley Road is holding several different events this Christmas, including a wreath making workshop tomorrow evening and several performances. You can find out more and how to sign up here. I’d highly recommend it – the team at the centre is lovely, the atmosphere is Christmassy and you’re bound to leave feeling a little extra Festive!

What have you been up to in the run up to Christmas? Have you done anything a little different and special?

Chloe xx
