That freshly baked smell of warm bread, straight from the oven, as it floats around you and makes your tummy rumble. Seriously, how can anyone resist? I love a freshly baked loaf. Give me one of those over a full sliced white/wholemeal loaf any day. It might not always last quite as long, but it sure tastes better whilst it’s there. That crunchy crust, fluffy and light middle…it’s making me hungry just writing this. Recently I was lucky enough to be sent some of the new products which have just launched at Polish Bakery to try. The Polish Bakery is the oldest polish bakery in the UK, and considers a good loaf of bread the heart of every culture. So much so, that they say…

Alex has to be one of the luckiest football fans. On the Friday before the Euro 2016 finals, he got a message to see if he wanted to take someone’s place in a 24 hour round trip to France and back. For the EURO FINALS! As much as I moaned about yet another month of football – I always quite look forward to the summer break so I can be refreshed for the new season in August…haha – I did think this was an amazing opportunity! So the morning after Wireless Festival, Alex got up super early, like 6am!, and headed to St. Pancras for the Eurostar with his best friend. I kept up with his Snapchat, and got a couple messages throughout the day,…

Dreamcakes and biskies…sounds like names you’d make up for a child right? Something to get them over excited about a treat? But actually we’re all in for a treat with these amazing creations from Cutter and Squidge, a relatively new, super cute bakery in the heart of Soho, founded by sisters Anna and Emily Liu. I recently got invited to go to one of their first ever masterclasses, an evening of decorating biskies and dreamcakes and trying out some of their delicious treats. So first let me explain – A bit about Cutter & Squidge: Annabel and Emily Lui are self-taught bakers and started in their own tiny kitchen. Their aim was to invent new products, recreate time-honoured classics and above all, create cutting-edge taste sensations – In…

How many coffee shops can you name? If you can just name the big 5 or so..then you’re missing out on some little beauties! I’m not saying that the big chains aren’t great, because I do love a Costa or a Starbucks every now and then (Starbucks have a pistachio and rose mocha on the menu at the moment which is really good!), but there are so many little boutique coffee shops you should really explore. One of my colleagues at work has a coffee shop list – a growing list of all the little coffee places she wants to visit, some more well known than others. Several are close to where we work so I’ve joined in exploring these cute little hidden spots, which helps us to…

On Saturday this weekend, I had a lovely girls day with my housemate Jen. I may have been a little hungover but this didn’t affect or stop our little wander around angel or our gym sesh in the afternoon followed by a film night. Perfect girls day! Whilst walking towards Angel from Highbury & Islington station we had our eyes out for a nice little coffee shop or cafe to start our day. Upper street has so many lovely little places for lunch, coffee or dinner that it’s always hard to pick. However when we spotted this little place there was no doubt this was it. Romeos is a gluten free cafe/bakery. With Jen being on a gluten and wheat free diet due to allergies…
