Pad thai. Katsu curry. Chilli chicken ramen. Go to an Asian restaurant and those are pretty much the three dishes I always go for. Ok, so I haven’t previously chosen Asian restaurants that often, or I’d definitely have tried something new everytime. The issue is, Alex is not a veggie man, so we look for a menu without too many options with veggies tied in – picking them out in public is not the coolest thing for a 25 year old to do. But when I’m with the girls, well that’s different. And after my recent Asian cuisine experience I certainly need to start getting my restaurant priorities right. Asia de Cuba is a restaurant which brings together Latin and Asian ingredients, techniques and flavours.…

I’d heard so many amazing things about Flat Iron, from numerous different people, and they’d always said that the queue was worth it. And I can now tell you, Flat Iron didn’t just meat all my expectations, it totally exceeded them. And now…the steaks are raised for any other meat restaurant on my list. Ok I’ll stop with the puns now. I did make myself giggle a little. Flat Iron is another restaurant which has been on my list of places to visit for what seems like a lifetime. We tried to go to the soho branch a while ago, one Saturday afternoon, and the queue was almost 3 hours long! With it starting to rain, and the queue heading out into the street, we decided…

I think I end my week pretty much as I start it. Fuelled my caffeine. But then of course, on a Friday you get that Friday feeling adrenaline which brings on a positive mood as the excitement grows for two days off. But I still need the coffee – I’m just so tired by the time it gets to Friday! Sometimes I’ll just grab an instant from the kitchen in the office (I love Azera coffee at the moment – it’s just so smooth, not too bitter and doesn’t leave a nasty taste behind. It’s delicious), but I am trying to go out and find new coffee places near to work. I like to escape, sit in a little coffee shop with a book or…

Sweets. The sugary sour ones, the frothy pink and blue ones, the soft coconut ones, the chewy fruity gums and chews, the squidgy jelly ones, the liquorice sorts, the melt in your mouth foam bananas and shrimp, the sherbet filled ones, those of the lollipop type, the ones made for sucking, the foamy egg and heart ones, and the squishy, fluffy marshmallows. I’m not sure I can pick a favourite, they’re all super tasty, and a sure way to my heart! So when I got invited along to the launch event of SugarSin, a grown up sweet shop of sorts, located close to Covent Garden, I was obviously super duper excited. I took Alex with me, and we arrived as some of the first people…

I do love a homemade breakfast throughout the week, but sometimes I like to go out for the odd pre-work brekkie. I love trying new places, and I’m on a secret search to find the best porridge place in London – I have tried a few, and no I don’t ever get bored of porridge. Last week, I had a catch-up over a pre-work breakfast with one of my friends. We went to try out 26 Grains (everyone raves about their porridge), but as they weren’t opening until a little later that morning, we ended up at a cute little spot I’d walked past a few times before, and had had on my list for a while, Farmstand. Relatively new (it only opened earlier this year), Farmstand is focused…
