A standard cup of coffee just wasn’t going to cut it for international coffee day this year – THE coffee day when you have the excuse (if you need one) to indulge those caffeine cravings with something fancy. Don’t get me wrong, you cant beat a perfectly brewed flat white with creamy milk poured into the mug to create a pretty pattern on a regular day. But on these other occasions, coffee cocktails are the way to go. Especially over brunch! I was lucky enough to be invited to brunch with Tia Maria for International coffee day – the dark coffee liqueur. Taking place at St. Barts Brewery in Smithfield, almost the whole restaurant come bar was buzzing with life, groups nattering and people tucking…

Sat at a little chipboard effect table for two earlier this week, in the coolest new coffee & cocktail spot, Alex turned to me after taking a sip of my decaf espresso Martini and said “I’m surprised you like that. You’re actually a proper coffee lover now”. I hadn’t been for a proper coffee with Alex for a long time, but I realised he was right – it’s not just about the caffeine fix and getting through the day for me anymore, piling in the sugar or ordering a milky flavoured latte to hide the taste. I actually LOVE the taste of a good cup of coffee. And this new spot does a bludy good coffee. Ok, I did only try it in a cocktail,…

A coffee stop on a day out has now become a must. Especially when it’s cold, as I love to escape the chilly weather for warmer places to catch-up. But almost anytime I head out for the day these days, it involves coffee at some point. I can see why everyone spends so much money on the stuff – there’s something about a good old cup of joe. Finding that dreamy coffee, which is strong and bold enough, with a smooth texture and not too bitter taste is somewhat a hard feat, but the hunt is so worth the money – don’t worry, my addiction hasn’t become overpowering yet so I don’t actually spend too much. I recently found another beauty which I had to…

I think I end my week pretty much as I start it. Fuelled my caffeine. But then of course, on a Friday you get that Friday feeling adrenaline which brings on a positive mood as the excitement grows for two days off. But I still need the coffee – I’m just so tired by the time it gets to Friday! Sometimes I’ll just grab an instant from the kitchen in the office (I love Azera coffee at the moment – it’s just so smooth, not too bitter and doesn’t leave a nasty taste behind. It’s delicious), but I am trying to go out and find new coffee places near to work. I like to escape, sit in a little coffee shop with a book or…

We all know I like a good coffee, especially recently with my love being declared for Covent Garden Grind (recent post here) – yumm their lattes are so tasty!  Well this week is actually National Coffee Week (11-17th April). A whole week dedicated to the bitter sweet, brown stuff so many of us Londoners include as a staple part of our diets – what would a week be without a one? So to celebrate such a fabulous invention, what better way than combining two of my favourite things – coffee and cocktails. Anyone? One of my friends and I have selected three coffee cocktails which are available in London, to be on our must-do list, which we wanted to share with you all to help you celebrate coffee the…
